Fill the Wheelbarrow

As our way of giving back this holiday season, Mobile Lumber is hosting a Holiday Food Drive to help The Joseph Project provide meals to hungry Mobile area families and citizens. Started in 2011, The Joseph Project Community Food Pantry is a partnership between Ashland Place United Methodist Church and the Dumas Wesley Community Center in Mobile, Alabama. It is open one day a week and distributes supplemental food boxes to the first 100 people in line (number of groceries are unfortunately limited by budget constraints). The Pantry is available to all in need and serves households once a month as long as they need assistance. It is completely volunteer-supported and operated and funded by monetary donations, which are used to buy food directly from Bay Area Food Bank, in Theodore, Alabama, where the money goes a long way!

The MOST NEEDED items include:
canned fruit and veggies
breakfast foods (grits, oatmeal, healthy cereal)
hygiene items (shampoo, soap, even hotel samples!)
can openers
peanut butter
mac & cheese
rice, dried beans, canned meats
pop-top foods for the homeless that don't need to be cooked
new or used backpacks and recyclable grocery tote bags

We encourage you to join us in our efforts! Any little bit helps; whether it's a can of green beans or all of those hotel shampoos you've been hoarding!
