Jim Henderson, Sr. drove Ronald McDonald in the Mobile Christmas and Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec. 18
in his '57 Chevrolet. His grandson Tripp Galloway and great-grandson Bennett Henderson accompanied him.

Mr. Henderson got the special privelege of driving the Mobile Bay Area Veteran's Day Commission's 2010
Patriot of the Year, Ann-Margaret.

Ann-Margaret, who rose to stardom in the 1960's when she starred in Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas, signed autographs for vets and fans before the parade began in downtown Mobile. Col. Patrick Downing said that she was chosen for this award "because of her continuous support of our veterans and particularly our Vietman veterans" and that "she continues to support veterans today."

It is interesting to note that, according to her website, she is the first non-politcal figure and first woman who did not serve in the military to be honored with the award. A luncheon was held for her immediately following the parade at Fort Whiting's armory.

Big and exciting changes are happening at Mobile Lumber! Most notably, we're moving our door. Instead of separate retail and contractor entrances, we'll soon have one main entrance. Please pardon our mess as we complete this project.
